Working alongside the the EMEA GPE (Engineering) Leadership this role is responsible for instilling a “performance CI mindset ” and for driving optimization, productivity and efficiency in executing the GPE scope.
Leading and coordinating a cross-functional team in assessing and analyzing project data (project budget overruns included) to set and review productivity and efficiency targets, deploying best practice from across EMEA and Global organization.
Tasks and Qualifications:This role works in close co-operation with the VP and GPE Leadership to set the strategic priorities for the team, fostering a “performance CI culture” in which all employees become actively engaged and accountable in ensuring optimization, efficiency and productivity related to our delivered solutions, both with our internal and external customers.
This role will also be expected to play a part in strategy development and standardisation of all facets of the GPE across EMEA and alignment with Global practices and process. Being actively involved and promoting the Global matrix structure of engineering, knowledge and best practice sharing across GPE.
Core Accountabilities
- Develop, foster and maintain excellent relationships with all relevant internal/external stakeholders across the GPE organisation
- Create, develop and manage the EMEA GPE project-performance-data library. This includes baseline and targets for all engineering related tasks
- Promote best practice sharing and ideas generation to maximise engineering performance, contributing to wider business objectives
- Establish a cross-functional team, implement the required process and establish the operational rhythm and rigor to drive project’s efficiency and productivity, by also setting, measuring and communicating targets and KPIs
- In conjunction with Process Excellence, develop, analyse, evaluate, report on and recommend productivity improvements to the delivery of engineering scope
- Support the VP GPE EMEA in delivering the EMEA strategic vision
- Leverage global best practice and process improvement as is beneficial to the GPE and EMEA organisation
- Develop a network of relationships across Dematic both functionally and with individuals that are crucial to the effective implementation of Engineering improvement projects to ensure successful implementation on the ground.
Line management:
- Develop the right competences & skills in the department
- Embed the Dematic core values in the department
- Develop a vision and strategy for multiyear plan for the department
- Delegate responsibilities and empower teams
- Keep teams informed on a regular basis
- Create high performing teams (team building etc.)
Steering and Control:
- Steer and control cost centre / department on budget, costs and performance
- Report status regularly to different stakeholders (management, finance, department, ...)
What we are looking for:
to be successful in this business critical and highly rewarding position you will be a seasoned leader in engineering, with a proven track record of developing and delivering world class engineering efficiency programmes. as well as having:
Significant and proven experience of Change Management.
Qualification in an Engineering discipline or similar experience
Six Sigma Green belt certification
5+ years’ experience of Process Improvement and Project management, ideally within the field of industrial automation.
High degree of LSS knowledge and experience.
Track record of delivering multiple process improvement projects
Experience of creating and presenting analysis of performance metrics
Development of CI strategy
Team Leadership
Development of change management strategy and deployment
Working as a business change agent
