The Role:
In this role you will:
Commission and support aftermarket projects, with the backing of controls engineers - working on various materials handling solutions within the Northern Europe region. To develop a solid understanding of Dematic control systems, ensure the successful completion of projects and build on supporting the aftermarket and Customer Service teams.

Off-Site Duties:
  • Gather on-site information to assist the MU engineering or sales team
  • Completion of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Preparation of test documentation
  • Reading, and editing when required, of electrical layout and schematic drawings using appropriate CAD tools
  • Preparation of configuration files, parameter and software for PLC’s, Inverters, Scanners, network controllers etc…
  • Write software for the Graphical User Interface
  • Develop “How To” guides for the Customer Service support team or end user
  • Assist with generation of O & M manuals
On-Site Duties:
  • Complete electrical installation on smaller projects
  • Supervise and check electrical installations carried out by contractors when required
  • Pre-commission control panels, field devices and main plant items (motors, inverters etc)
  • Commission controllers, networks and field devices as a complete system including fieldbus systems such as ASi, Interbus-S, Profibus and Profinet
  • Carry out minor PLC changes
  • Commission HMI’s
  • Follow test procedures, verify basic functionality of control software onsite to be able to run the conveyors, sorters or ASRS
  • Document design changes, commissioning progress, site reports
  • Facilitate handover and demonstrate the completed works to customer/end user
  • Provide instruction/training for the end user
Support Duties:
  • Launch support post “go-live”
  • Work with controls team on larger projects
  • Out of hours callout
  • Ongoing support of previous MU works
  • Working as part of the Customer Service support team when required during peak times
What We Are Looking For:
To apply for this role you should have / evidence:
  • Essential: Background and experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Controls Engineering
  • Desirable: Educated to minimum ONC level in electrical discipline
  • Beneficial: To have held a similar role
  • Beneficial: Previous use of CAD tools
  • Beneficial: Demonstrable knowledge and experience within the materials handling industry
  • Full driving licence
