Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity to join National Enforcement at the Environment Agency and help us share our work across the business and with our external audiences.A key part of this role will be communicating successes amongst internal teams and developing engaging posts for our social media channels. This includes managing the Joint Unit for Waste Crime’s Twitter (X) and LinkedIn pages. You will also manage our Viva Engage page. You will be involved in copy writing, editing images and videos, and pitching ideas to increase our social media presence while maintaining a professional and serious voice.This role may also include general administrative tasks such as minute taking, data management, records management, calendar management and travel booking.We are a dispersed team based within the Environment Agency’s National Enforcement Service.The teamThe National Enforcement Service (NES) has an ambition of reducing crime and environmental offending to support our aspiration of both eliminating it and its impacts on people and the environment.The Joint Unit for Waste Crime (JUWC) is a multi-agency unit designed to tackle serious and organised crime in the UK waste industry. We are made up of 9 enforcement partners and 2 industry partners covering England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.Experience/skills RequiredThe ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with experience of working with internal and external customers. Good basic administration skills are essential, and experience of working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment is desirable. Good time management, specifically the ability to manage yourself, is important. Additionally, experience of using social media is essential, with the ideal candidate having managed a social media account on behalf of a group or workplace. Knowledge of how to use social media analytics to improve and monitor performance is also favourable. Overall, it is important to have a positive attitude and to be able to use initiative.Contact and additional informationWe undertake intelligence led investigations to detect, prevent and tackle serious organised criminals committing environmental crime at an area, national and international level.We develop and manage criminal intelligence to ensure investigations are targeted with effective and efficient outcomes.NES also manages the issuing of Rod licences and the enforcement of rod and line offences.This is a permanent role.The location for this role is flexible.
