How you’ll make a difference

Supporting young people and adults in face-to-face and virtual environments, you’ll assist in employment and career development, learning and training as part of the new South Gloucestershire “Works4Youth” Employment Hub.

What will you be doing?
  • In this role you’ll act as the initial contact between the service and the client and a key interface between specialist internal and external services including lead professionals helping clients overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.
  • You will make contact and be available to clients in community settings, building effective and meaningful relationships through mutual trust, respect and understanding.
  • On a daily basis you will work alongside young people/adults to create experiences which enable them to make informed choices and take more control over their future employment.
  • You will identify and respond to the needs of individuals and groups of young people/adults by developing appropriate strategies and activities for engagement which can be both educational and fun.
  • You’ll be required to maintain engagement with the service user through their action plan, supporting the client where necessary to overcome their barriers and access identified opportunities within and beyond the service.
  • The responsibility will be yours to maintain accurate records of their work with clients to support their clients’ progress through the service and to report against key performance indicators.

What we need from you

  • You should have a Level 3 professional qualification in relevant field and five GCSEs at level C/4 or above including Maths and English.
  • You must have demonstrable experience in the design and delivery of activities for young people and a successful track record of engaging with 16-24 years old to progress personally and engage with support programs.
  • It is essential you have knowledge and awareness of employment sector, local business communities, local skills, learning provision and other support agencies.
  • You will have the ability to build effective working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will understand the challenges and barriers young people face accessing the workplace and have the knowledge to connect with and engage young people and adults effectively.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
