Key Role
  • To provide a quality minor injury/illness service to patients attending the Emergency Department.
  • Assist in the monitoring and development of standards in the delivery of a minor injury/illness service.
  • Assist in the development of research-based nursing practice within the Emergency Department, through the implementation of evidence-based practice.
  • To act as advisor in regard to safeguarding concerns and support / adhere to trust policy
We are looking for highly competent Qualified Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP) Band 6, interested in joining the dedicated ENP team based within the Emergency Department (ED) at the Horton General Hospital. Experience in minor injury/illness assessment and treatment is pivotal to the role. This will be an autonomous position, working within set parameters of practice. The post holder will be competent at assessing, investigating, diagnosing, and treating adults and children presenting to the emergency department with minor injuries and minor illness.

We aim to deliver a patient centred style of practice that promotes and reflects the values and beliefs of a dedicated ENP service. The ENP service is integrated with front door emergency teams at both the Horton and John Radcliffe EDs.

We are able to provide unique opportunities in development of advanced practitioner skills within both acute and minor emergency care models at Masters level (Progression to B7 level dependant on competency and Masters accreditation
