We are looking for an Advanced Audiologist or Clinical Scientist (Audiology) to join the Oxford Auditory Implant Programme which provides an assessment, surgical, fitting and follow up service for adults and children in the region who cannot wear or do not gain adequate benefit from standard hearing aids.

You will join a team of Clinical Scientists, Audiologists, Speech and Language Therapists, and a Teacher of the Deaf, and will work closely with ENT colleagues to provide this highly specialist service. The post holder will also be a member of the wider audiology team which includes both adult and paediatric audiology and some clinical work in these areas may be possible for the interested candidate.

We are looking for someone with a positive approach and a can-do attitude who has enthusiasm for auditory implants. You will need to have significant post-qualification experience in both adult and paediatric audiology, to include behavioural testing in children and the fitting and verification of hearing aids to both adults and children. Previous experience of cochlear implantation is an advantage, although training will be provided.

The role primarily involves carrying out assessments of suitability for cochlear implants, BAHAs and Middle Ear Implants and the fitting, programming, maintenance and evaluation of these devices. You will also be expected to make a contribution to service development, evaluation, audit and research. You will work as part of a team dedicated to quality and effective patient care.

Applicants should have an MSc in Audiology with CAC / HTS, or STP in Neurosciences (Audiology modality), or have a BSc in Audiology / PTP Healthcare Science (Audiology) with evidence of further specialist training / qualifications in paediatric audiology. You will and be an Audiologist or a Clinical Scientist (Audiology) registered with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP), the Academy of Healthcare Science or the Health and Care Professions Council (registered as a Clinical Scientist).

The post is advertised at 0.7FTE (26.25hrs per week).
