Main Accountabilities
  • Provides education to the subcontractor team in developing safety knowledge and hazard perception and encouraging the site team to engage in positive safety conversations and capturing the details of them by way of behavioural based safety observations. Acts as a positive role model for site safety, a One Dematic safety culture, and right first-time installation.
  • Monitor and feedback the adherence to RAMS by installers and offers effective supervision where there is increased risk. Producing timely reports in cloud-based site reporting tools (e.g. Gensuite) consistently, to a high standard on each agreed time period worked with accuracy, evidence-based content, and with relevance on progress and any events of note.
  • Coordinates and leads the organisation and supervision of all on-site installation activities according to discipline and/ or area driving safety & quality compliance on site throughout delivery lifecycle (project specific). Monitors the team undertaking regular quality checks on installation and related processes throughout project lifecycle and uses the QMS cloud-based reporting tool for capturing quality incidents. Collating of data from the relevant reports to identify trends and look to communicate and close any issues raised.
  • Contributes proactively with the Site Manager drafting the Site Installation Plan. Report any delays/ defects which may cause disruption to the installation plan and drive any remedial works to overcome the issues. Coordinating the successful and defect free installation handover to the Commissioning team whilst providing on-going support up to and including handover to the customer.
  • The Site Supervisor can act as the first point of contact on site for assistance and resolution in safety/technical related enquiries this will then be delegated into relevant work areas/ PLCs. Works collaboratively across various business functions i.e. Engineering and Project Management.
  • Drives the execution of initiatives to optimize production, and undertakes improvement initiatives on projects, working closely with various disciplines on site. Provide guidance to new members of the team/ developing site supervisors into successors.
  • Proactively identifies and reports energy and resource waste-streams and implements onsite improvements to reduce and minimize waste.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5+ years industry relevant experience including supervising at a similar grade.
  • Self-driven and a natural desire to progress within Dematic maintaining high personal standards/ discipline.
  • Experience with driving and managing sub-contractors and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Recognized and accredited apprenticeship in a mechanical/ electrical discipline or market specific equivalent. e.g. In UK apprentice requires NVQ Level 3 and above or C&G accreditation. Skills competency documentation to be reviewed.
  • Knowledge of market specific statutory regulations and standards
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work at height
  • Qualified First Aider (desirable)
  • MEWP’s Certificate (desirable)
  • First Aid Certificate (desirable)
  • Forklift Truck License (desirable)
  • Previous experience executing projects tailored to a servicing a strategic account is an advantage
  • Hold internationally recognised safety accreditation e.g. NEBOSH/ IOSH certificate

Tasks and Qualifications:

The Site Supervisor Strategic Account’s primary function is to co-ordinate team who accurately report on the safe and efficient execution of that part of the installation scope (at the point of work) for which it is their responsibility as directed by the Site Manager and the working collaboratively with Project Management. It is the Site Supervisor’s responsibility to oversee and deliver the relevant discipline scope of works to the required standards tailored specifically to Dematic’s strategic accounts. The Site Supervisor is an authority on Dematic equipment associated with its Strategic Accounts and a knowledgeable point of contact and escalation for subcontractors and site supervisors working on behalf of Dematic.

Site Supervisors monitor the progress of projects and ensure compliance with EHS regulations promoting and improving awareness, acting as a positive role model for site safety, a One Dematic culture, and right first-time installation.

The Site supervisor’s responsibilities include retaining a detailed understanding of the six-week installation schedule forecast for their area of influence as directed by the Site Manager, a firm grasp of the inter-relationship between the 6WIS and the weekly work plan and how there is an onus on the Site Supervisor to positively influence the consistent attainment of targets associated with subcontractor progress. A Site Supervisor should also be able to accurately anticipate and mitigate impacts to the schedule to prevent slippage.
