Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician - CCGTUp to circa £49,000 + bonus + benefits
Blackburn, Lancashire
MC Technical Recruitment are recruiting for an Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Technician to join a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station near Blackburn in Lancashire. The E,C&I Technician will form part of the maintenance team and will be responsible for conducting planned and reactive maintenance work on all EC&I assets across the power station to ensure maximum plant availability
Roles And Responsibilities
As the E,C&I Technician, responsibilities will include:
- Fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all E,C&I assets to maximise plant availability. This includes pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors and the sites control systems (DCS and PLCs etc) as well as electrical plant such as motors, drives, transformers, switchgear and some HV plant etc
- Working alongside other Technicians and Engineers to ensure an accurate daily schedule is produced and worked to
- Work with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades
- Assisting during site outages / shutdowns when required
- Maintaining accurate records using the site CMMS
- Managing and directing site contractors as required
- A time served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering subject such as electrical or electronic engineering or similar
- A relevant engineering qualification at HNC/ONC level or similar
- Proven hands-on electrical/C&I maintenance experience with drives, motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, PLCs, instrumentation etc in a heavy engineering environment - power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical site etc.
- Experience working with HV systems is desirable but not essential
- Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., health and safety and environmental etc.
- Ability to work as part of a small team and encourage collaborative working relationships
- A basic salary up to £49,000 depending on experience
- A bonus up to 20%
- A further 3 yearly bonus up to £1,500 per year
