We are looking for a Drives and Control Engineer to join our team in Hartlepool to be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of over 300 invertor drives and associated control software for all plant machinery. You will ensure that all automated and computer controlled equipment remains operable therefore minimising production process interruptions. You will be responsible for ensuring that the Hartlepool manufacturing facility runs smoothly and efficiently whilst meeting very high quality and safety standards.

As Drives and Control Engineer you will be responsible for system monitoring, debugging and troubleshooting operational problems finding creative solutions to assist in the implementation of predictive maintenance plans, as well as making repairs and performing maintenance. You will produce and amend work instructions and also be involved in writing reports and presentations from the analysis of the plant to assist with improvements.

Educated to a minimum level of HNC in electrical engineering, you will have a solid understanding of automation principles and experience of working with programmable controllers. You will be a Piltz CMSE Certified Machine Safety Expert, with software programming skills including Siemens, Emerson, Lenze and Allen Bradley. You should also have a good knowledge and understanding of PUWER and it’s application, as well as IOSH Working Safely.

You will be a strong communicator, with excellent organisation skills, with the ability to work well under pressure. You must have excellent knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs. Experience of project and budget management is desirable but not essential.
