It’s an important role, which is why we’re on the lookout for a confident Domain IT Manager to join the team, helping to keep us globally aligned.

You’ll lead a team whose role is to represent the needs of the customer interaction business community in the Aldi IT organisation. This includes management of the existing customer interaction software portfolio, assessing new project proposals, driving alignment between the various stakeholders in the global customer interaction community to support the creation of the overall Aldi customer interaction roadmap, driving alignment with other domains and managing the end-to-end lifecycle of customer interaction global business projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and motivate the Domain IT Team.
  • Strong focus on building relationships with the global IT and customer interaction communities.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of key market and technological trends in the areas of web/apps/CRM/marketing and eCommerce.
  • Support business colleagues with technical analysis of customer interaction topics.
  • Align the service level expectations of the business with those delivered by the central IT Teams.
  • Drive alignment with global customer interaction business, national information technology and international IT community.
  • Cross-domain and cross functional alignment, as necessary.
  • Ensure the preparation of supporting IT/technical materials for customer interaction participating committees (e.g. cross domain alignment (CDA), international customer interaction committee (ICIC), architecture board/committees).
  • Management of application portfolio management activities, e.g.
  • National/international landscape inventory, assessment and decommission approach of legacy portfolio.
  • Identify gaps and overlapping capabilities within the customer interaction landscape (identification of candidate roadmap items).
  • Provide transparency of business value, in relation to IT operating costs and the identification of underperforming applications.
  • Management of IT project portfolio management activities, e.g.
  • Assessment of national project requests.
  • Provide support to central IT Teams in managing IT project governance.
  • Primary contact from countries regarding central governance of project requests, and liaison with central TMO/cluster org functions.

Essential Skills Required:

  • Educated to 2:1 degree level.
  • Experience in a general management or consulting role working within a business facing IT role (pre-sales, tech lead/business lead/product management).
  • Previous experience of leadership responsibilities.
  • Experience managing various stakeholders, leading a cross-functional team and working in an AGILE environment.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Proven ability to engage with international stakeholders and senior business leaders.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to be adaptable and use language to work effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues on both a national and international level.
  • Experience of managing a technology portfolio and roadmap.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Articulate and an excellent communicator.
  • Highly intelligent with the ability to challenge conventional thinking.
  • Analytical with excellent numerical skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in high pressure environments to short deadlines.
  • Professional and highly organised.
  • Ability to motivate and coach an international and cross-cultural team.
  • Occasional international travel required.

  • Salary starting from £54,285, rising to £79,040.
  • 5-day/50-hour week, working Monday- Friday.
