An exciting opportunity has arisen and we are looking for a qualified District Nurse/Community Nursing Sister with leadership and management experience to lead one of the District Nursing Teams based in Sturminster Newton Medical Centre. We are committed and passionate about promoting health, well-being and independence. We are a values based Trust and are looking for dedicated and passionate clinicians who believe in the provision of patient centred care.

You will need a sound understanding of the current primary care agenda, including the management of long term conditions and role as care co-ordinator, with excellent communication skills and effective leadership, decision making skills and resilience . You will provide high quality clinical care, management of staff and case management for patients in the community setting.

You should possess excellent leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and time management skills. You should have experience in caseload management and be able to priorities work. The role is diverse, challenging and extremely rewarding.

The role also involves being a member of the senior team, managing and leading the community nurses and healthcare assistants under the guidance and support of the District Nurse Locality Lead.

Although Specialist Practitioner District Nurse qualification is desirable, a successful candidate without this would be expected to work towards the qualification fully supported by the Trust if the role were to become permanent.
