The successful candidate with provide strategic, clinical and professional leadership for the development of pharmacy services within The Countess of Chester Hospital and Cheshire West Place.As a key member of the Trust’s Senior Management Team you will work closely with clinical and management colleagues to deliver the vision for Pharmacy services developing and delivering innovative, high quality patient care.The Postholder Will
  • Provide strategic leadership in medicines management within the Trust and across the health economy to ensure services provided are progressive, responsive to internal and external demand, patient focused, safe and efficient.
  • Be responsible for the professional leadership, management, and development of the pharmaceutical services at COCH and Cheshire West Place, and those provided via SLA to the Backford Hospice and Virgin Care.
  • Provide expert advice to the Board and other senior officers on all medicines management and optimisation issues.
  • Hold statutory and ethical responsibility for ensuring safe systems are in operation for the ordering, prescription, dispensing, storage, and administration of medicines.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services.
