Band 5 Occupational Therapist- Permanent Full Time Post

We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic and dynamic band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Therapy team within the Therapy Services Dept. You will be supported by the wider team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, with opportunities to develop your skills in a variety of settings across different clinical areas.

You will be based within the fast paced acute discharge medical team with the focus on improving patient flow through the hospital, reducing length of stay and supporting with complex discharges. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in a variety of clinical areas using skills in problem solving, goal setting and treatment planning.

You will be provided with the opportunity to develop and demonstrate new skills, knowledge and leadership qualities to progress onto developmental roles across the Therapy Service.

There will be the opportunity to be a part of an inpatient rotation in the following areas Orthopaedics, Medical/Surgical wards, Stroke Rehabilitation and A+E/Frailty Unit.

To undertake assessment of patients with a wide range of conditions and to work as autonomous clinicians, under the guidance of Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapists as required, using accurate analytical skills and clinical reasoning to interpret assessment findings, identifying patient problems, setting goals, and providing an appropriate treatment plan and progression.

To work collaboratively with the patient, members of the multidisciplinary team and multiagency team to achieve the best possible outcome for the patient.

To maintain own CPD through maintaining professional development and taking forward opportunities as the arise.

To be aware of and work along side local support services to help with discharge planning.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.
