About You

You’ll know your social platforms (and their users) inside out. From using stories and reels to create authentic and engaging content, to crafting accessible and inspiring content for Facebook. You’ll be well versed in producing snappy videos, with the ability to use the full Adobe suite.

Real life social skills are also a must so you can build strong and lasting working relationships with your colleagues around the Trust. So while this role is predominately office (and home) based, it will involve regular travel around the county to gather and create content that shines a spotlight on the amazing work carried out by our staff and volunteers across Staffordshire.

You’ll be great at pitching social content to stop people mid scroll, intriguing them to find out more. You’ll be pivotal in ensuring our content is accessible to all; helping more people connect with nature, improving their environment and wellbeing.

We need someone who can create functional and eye-catching webpages and digital ads, with user-friendly journeys that deliver measurable success. CMS, SEO and Google Analytics will be second nature to you. Speaking of measurement, you will know your impressions from your reach, and have the knowledge and understanding to provide the context and meaning behind the stats. Using this insight will enable you to suggest recommendations for future content.

You’ll need to work well under pressure and deliver in a fast paced environment; being flexible when current events influence a change in priorities. No two days will be the same.

About the Role

Developing and executing the Trust’s communications strategy, ensuring that all communications and PR activities reflect the strategic direction and objectives of the Trust and that key messages reach target audiences through a variety of mediums.

The recovery of nature has never been more vital. We are in the middle of a climate crisis and a nature crisis. But it has been estimated that a return to healthy natural systems could provide one-third of the most cost-effective solutions to fighting climate change.

As a digital officer at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust you could be a leader in the movement for a greener, wilder future, engaging supporters, campaigning for change, and influencing the local agenda.

Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager you will work closely with colleagues across SWT to promote our conservation and education projects and grow support. This will translate to increasing our membership base.

Our members are our core, the heartbeat of the Trust. They make all our work possible, and without them we wouldn’t exist. Working within the Income Generation team you’ll be integral to both retaining existing members but also importantly attracting new ones, along with a wider supporter base of enthused communities who want to take action for wildlife.

Working for a conservation charity you need to represent and uphold our organisation’s values at all times, always providing excellent customer service when interacting with our members and members of the public.
