Summary

We are currently seeking applications for a Development Officer (Mentors in Violence Prevention) within Education Scotland based in Glasgow, Livingston, Aberdeen or Dundee. This is a 6 month fixed term and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Education Scotland is Scotland’s national improvement agency for education. Our role is to provide assurance and promote improvement, from the early years to adult learning. Education Scotland are currently offering a fixed term post for 6 months to support the national development of the school based Mentors In Violence Prevention Programme (MVP). This full-time post will support the further roll out of the MVP Programme as well as supporting the embedding of the programme within Local Authorities across Scotland. The location for the post is flexible.

Job description

? Support Local Authorities to deliver and embed the MVP programme.
? Liaise as necessary with schools to support sustainability of ongoing MVP professional
learning.
? Work in partnership with the Inclusion Team within Education Scotland and the Violence
Reduction Unit.
? Contribute and support the development of MVP national professional learning materials
in line with Education Scotland quality assurance processes.
? The post holder will be expected to undertake any task consistent with the post that may
be required by the organisation.

Responsibilities

1. Background of delivering the MVP Programme.
2. Demonstrable experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of professional learning programmes.
3. Experienced in leading effective change at local / or national level.
4. Well-developed interpersonal skills along with excellent stakeholder management skills.
