We are currently seeking applications for a Strategy and Compliance Officer within the Directorate for People based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. This role provides opportunities to deliver essential business support to the Diversity and Inclusion Team. The work is wide ranging and interesting, covering all aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion with a strong focus on working collectively as a team. You will have opportunities to use your drafting, collation and research skills to produce reports which can be for a senior audience; to provide project management support to enable the smooth delivery of critical Diversity and Inclusion work; to support planning and delivery of events and interventions which enable delivery of our Diversity and Inclusion vision. You will be a key point of contact into the team and will use your professional approach and excellent customer service skills to build the reputation of the Diverstiy and Inclusion Team with a wide variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders and external organisations.

Over time you will build up a working and professional knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and wider diversity and inclusion issues and developments and how these shape our work.

Qualifications Required
For jobs in Band B & C you must hold a minimum of 3 Highers or equivalent.

Essential Criteria
1. Track record of strong organisational skills and effective management of own time to meet priorities and deadlines.
2. Evidence of good customer service skills including being open to change and focused on developing a professional service.
3. Track record of ability to complete research and analysis, to source, gather and interpret appropriate information and draft reports.
4. Track record of using IT confidently to present and manage information e.g. Microsoft Excel and other software packages such as Google Docs, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, etc.
