I am actively seeking a Development Manager for my client based in Gloucester, on a Permanent basis.

£60,000 - £75,000 per annum + Bonus

Overview:

Line management, mentoring, development and leadership of between 6 and 8 FTE
Delivery of new software systems and enhancements to existing functionality
Delivery of projects within budget (time, scope, quality)
Delivery of robust, scalable, secure, performant, maintainable, extensible software architecture
Management and evolution of agile delivery process for the team
Effective collaboration and cooperation with all stakeholders around project activity
Maintain and prioritise the backlog of bugs, problems, enhancements, and internal requests relating to product and systems owned by the team. Delivers these in line with overall priorities for the team.
Identifying and furthering architectural advancements of the company software systems in line with overall technology strategy

Requirements:

Strong people management skills, including setting clear goals, objectives and expected behaviours, agreeing development plans and regularly reviewing performance.
Significant prior experience in software engineering. Strong candidates will have many years of experience developing systems in many different technologies and will have some level of experience across the stack, from front-end to backend systems
Experience of leading agile delivery processes (Scrum, Kanban, etc)
Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, and software engineering standard methodologies, especially well versed on CI/CD
Strong understanding of what the DevOps and GitOps mentality is about and how it advises ways of working and technical ownership
Solid understanding of secure coding practises and security considerations for web facing software/systems
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
