Design Technology and Art Technician

The Boys’ Division is seeking to appoint a full time Design Technology and Art Technician to provide technical, practical and administrative support to the Department of Design, Technology and Engineering, and the Department of Art to enable the delivery of high quality teaching and learning.

The main duties will include supporting teachers during workshop lessons, preparing and assisting with practical sessions, undertaking repairs and general maintenance, and completing administrative tasks such as stock control, maintaining Health and Safety records and taking deliveries.

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a practical environment, will possess excellent time-management skills, the ability to patiently assist children and be computer literate. Experience as a school technician is desirable but not essential.

The role may develop in the future to include Food Technology. The successful applicant will therefore need to be keen to embrace this and develop accordingly.
