A leading commercial supplier to both public and private sector clients across the globe is currently seeking a Design Team Leader to join their expert team in Cheltenham.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, in this role, you will manage a total team of three.

You will need to be an experienced designer/engineer and demonstrate excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

The work would predominately be the design and space planning of commercial interiors in a variety of environments including portable buildings, modular buildings, traditional buildings and tent structures.

You will liaise with internal customers including the Sales Hire Team, representing disciplines of Project Sales, Event Sales, Modular Sales, International Event Projects and One-Off Design and Build, and, with other in-house customers regarding engineering and construction-based projects.

As the Design Team Leader, it is essential that you have experience in the following

  • 2D Plan Drawings
  • 3D Modelling
  • Use of Externally Referenced Drawings
  • Implementation of CAD Layer Standards and Templates
  • Implementation of Drawing Block Attributes & Data Extraction
  • Development and quality assurance of design library content, including the use of dynamic blocks and Revit families

Duties and additional requirements of the Design Team Leader include

  • Site visits to take accurate site measurements
  • Understanding a client brief and interpreting design requirements
  • Production of sales presentation drawings using layouts and raster (JPEG/TIFF) images
  • Aid in the completion of detailed designs
  • Compilation of detailed approval drawings to produce stainless-steel fabrication
  • Use of spreadsheets and/or Revit to calculate equipment quantities and utility loads
  • Take design briefs and present designs using 2D and 3D imagery
  • Calculate utility loadings using Excel and Revit software.
  • Accurate completion of the master drawing register
  • Knowledge of creating and updating an AutoCAD User Interface
  • Update the master equipment services spreadsheet template
  • Responsibility for the compilation and accuracy of the CAD design block and Revit library

Salary: 45k

Working hours: 40 per week – Generally 8.30 to 5.30pm
