PMO Manager

Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Edin to recruit for a PMO Manager in the Public Sector on a temporary basis for 6 Months with potential extension.

Day rate: £575 - £675 (Inside IR35)

Main Duties:

  • Support the C2 Head of Unit to deliver quality PPM across the programme, enabling delivery of Ministerial and Programme priorities.
  • Embed Programme level standards across all areas of programme management including risk, planning, governance, reporting, information management, Assurance and Finance.
  • Lead a team to deliver quality and consistent project management support across a number of Programme service areas.
  • Scope and define project to ensure specific elements of the commitment to deliver Benefits are completed on time.
  • Act as an escalation point within the team for issue and risk resolution
  • Review team outputs and quality check ahead of circulation to Boards and Senior Stakeholders
  • Ensure the organisation is adequately resourced to meet existing, emerging and changing priorities, supporting strategic decisions on staffing roles and structures.
  • Lead on coaching and mentoring across the organisation to drive quality outcomes.
  • Mature the service offered and seeking learning and feedback from other PMO colleagues and Service areas to enhance and improve the quality of the service provided.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, embedding PPM best practice across the Programme and building a PPM legacy for the organisation.
  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders across national and local government, national representative bodies and in private and third sector organisations to develop and implement the Programme.
  • Play an active role in the wider PMO leadership team.

Essential:

  • Proven track record as a leading and developing teams to deliver high quality outcomes in a high profile and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to develop and communicate clear strategies and plans which support actions and engage others. You will be able to adapt quickly and flexibly to changing circumstances and demands.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility and maintain positive and effective relations with a diverse range of senior partners both internal and external.
  • Experience in Programme Management with a strong working knowledge of PPM principles and their application in a large and complex programme.

Candidates are required to have a Basic Disclosure Scotland Certificate
