Job Role :- Planning/Purchasing Co-ordinator

Contract :- Permanent

Location :- Skelmersdale (WN8)

Salary :- £23,000 - £26,600 p/yr (DOE)

Hrs :- Mon - Thurs (08:00-16:30hrs) & Fri (08:00-14:30hrs)

We are currently recruiting for a permanent Planning/Purchasing Co-ordinator for our client who are a leading Engineering business in speciality, high precision components for high profile contracts within the Automotive industries.

As the Planning/Purchasing Co-ordinator, your duties will include :-

  • Entering customer purchase orders into SAP system as scheduled and spot orders.
  • Verifying latest deliveries against SAP system and customer purchase orders.
  • Communicating with customers on a daily basis via email and telephone calls.
  • Liaising internally with production, dispatch/logistics department and relaying relevant information to customers.
  • Logging into customers web based portals and extracting schedules.
  • Maintaining and updating internal daily sales/planning sheet data.
  • Sending request for quotations (RFQ’s) to suppliers.
  • Raising purchase orders & purchase requisitions in SAP system.
  • Creating and Sending purchase order to suppliers.
  • Maintaining purchasing requirements via SAP MRP requirements and manual data usage sheets.
  • Logging packaging in customer web based portals.
  • Creating and releasing SAP batch cards in line with customer demands.

The successful Planning/Purchasing Co-ordinator will have the following skills :-

  • Must have previous experience within a Planning or Purchasing role, ideally from an Engineering/Manufacturing environment.
  • Must excellent knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to liaise with various departments and levels of staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good team player with initiative to work with minimal supervision.
