JCB Attachments offers an exciting opportunity to work within a rapidly expanding business. The business has a very ambitious five year vision and is looking to expand the team with first class individuals to support this growth.
As a result of continued growth within the Attachments business, we are seeking a Design Manager reporting to Product & Engineering Manager, with extensive, proven experience in mechanical design / development and proven team management experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading the Design / Development & Validation of all JCB Attachments
- Ensure all customer requirements are delivered
- Ensure product cost and performance targets are delivered
- Managing project cost and project timing
- Adherence to JCB group systems & standards
- Budget control and delivery
- Design for manufacture
- Liaise with other departments to ensure holistic programme delivery.
- To grow the product range in line with the business requirements and our 5 year plan commitments
- Manage & Drive an international team
- Further responsibility to grow in role with supporting in management activities / people development
- Specification and Introduction of aftermarket kits to support machine upgrades
- Management Attachments and Light Equipment current product range
- Management of the technical publication system to release technical literature in line with product requirements
- Management of the Attachments concession system to support current product builds
In addition to a passion for engineering, a proven track record for delivery of design innovation and a desire to be proactive and practical with projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject (e.g mechanical engineering)
- Experience with NPIP throughout all stages
- Competent user of NX Unigraphics
- Competent user of Team centre- Proven track record of product design and development
- Good command of both written and spoken English
- Able to work both independently and as a team player
- Able to plan workload and hit deadlines set
- Open minded, self-motivated and the passion to learn and develop new innovative solutions
- Positive attitude to move the business forwards
