Design Draughtsperson

Bradford

Salary: Circa £40k depending on experience- negotiable

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our clients dynamic team, based in Bradford. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in undertaking design and draughting projects globally, supporting our clients business from the UK Design Office.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for calculating and managing design and draughting projects, collaborating with colleagues, and ensuring the delivery of quality design solutions. This role is vital in providing engineering support for offshore crane repairs, refurbishment, operation, and maintenance on a global scale.

Main Responsibilities

Produce conceptual and detailed design outputs, including fabrication drawings, general arrangements, repair schemes, and lifting plan sketches.

Prepare MTO packages and actively contribute to drawing office systems and procedural development.

Self-check drawings and data, as well as checking colleague design outputs.

Carry design scopes through completion within set budgets and project planned delivery dates.

Contribute to design scope quotations within the company’s SMS systems.

Handle design scope quotations from initial quoting stage through to invoicing.

Conduct site and offshore dimensional surveys and prepare detailed survey reports in various locations.

Management And Leadership

Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, demonstrating interpersonal skills to work cooperatively across organizational boundaries.

Drive and deliver high standards/results, reviewing priorities and updating plans accordingly.

Analyse and challenge resource utilization against business objectives, aligning behavior with company goals.

Act as an ambassador for the company, ensuring a consistent positive image.

Anticipate and prepare for future obstacles, thinking broadly about aligning actions to benefit customer expectations.

HSQE Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with current business policies and procedures, identifying and reporting non-compliance.

Participate in improvement programs, support a First-Class safety culture, and ensure environmental compliance.

Lead by example, communicate the importance of safe work, and actively participate in the compliance and improvement of management systems.

Skills & Competencies

A good understanding of the offshore crane industry with relevant experience.

Industry-standard apprenticeship completion as a minimum.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Upstream Industry, ideally in a position affiliated with crane maintenance and mechanical handling.

Experience in working with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, API Q1, and Training Management Systems like API TPCP.

Practical skills and knowledge of past and modern crane industry processes and practices.

Proficient in CAD Package programs (AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor), Microsoft Office, SAP systems, and product information management systems/databases.

Excellent communication abilities with employees of all levels
