About The Role

This role is responsible for the Network Operating Authority Cyber Compliance Frontdoor Capability in support of the NOA Cyber Compliance Team and the NOA Governance board. This is to execute Op AUGITE to deliver a proactive, layered, agile and intelligence-fused Cyber Defence Capability for all of the MoD. The team is a mix of Military and Civilian personnel.

(Posts will have staff management responsibility. Dependent on the ‘tasking’ and business need, there may be a requirement to travel to meetings within the UK and for occasional overseas visits).

Defence Digital is currently going through a Transformation Programme which aims to ensure we have the right workforce, with the right skills to deliver the MOD’s Digital Strategy. As the programme progresses, Defence Digital staff may be required to undergo an assessment to understand and develop their upskilling needs to support the delivery of this strategy. This post may be impacted by Transformation as the programme progresses.

Defence Digital operates an organisation model in which every individual belongs to a Government Profession. The successful applicant will be posted into one of the defined Government Professions on Standard Terms of Reference for the grade. Defence Digital reserves the right to move individuals between roles, within their allocated profession, to meet the needs of the business and in support of agile resourcing. Within Defence Digital each profession is led by a Professional Head of Community who will lead professional development and support the Continuous Professional Development path for their group.

Responsibilities

You will be the focal point for the Network Operating Authority Cyber Compliance team (NOA CCT), managing Defence Digital stakeholders and external organisations to ensure new and existing projects, systems and applications are compliant with current MOD policy, by ensuring necessary security measures and monitoring requirements are implemented.

Responsibilities will include;
  • Manage and maintain the multi-user mailbox.
  • Management of risk balance cases against network joining requests, ensuring adherence to MOD Cyber Operational Directives.
  • Support to business meetings, taking notes and recording actions.
  • Support the management of all projects within the team seeking Network Operating Compliance and co-ordinating team reviews.
  • Lead your own projects through life, in line with MOD Defensive Cyber policy, through to final authority to operate on the live Defence Network.
  • Develop and maintain relevant business processes and ensure coherence with wider Defence Digital / Defence Cyber Operations (DCO) processes.
  • Provide a basic technical understanding of Networks and systems across the Wider Area Network and Local Area Network.
