How you’ll make a difference

Cambrian Green Day Services is a Dementia Day Care facility offering Day Care to residents of South Gloucestershire, you will make a difference by supporting with person centred activities and making connections with the people who attend whilst having an understanding and awareness of how Dementia can affect individuals.

What will you be doing

  • You will assist and support people to participate in a variety of meaningful activities at the Centre during the day that have been planned.

  • Your role is to help those who attend achieve positive outcomes, including sustaining lifelong skills and improve on their quality of life, as specified within their assessed support needs.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to learn relevant Dementia practices, approaches and procedures to support those who attend.
  • You will be responsible in maintaining records including daily notes and Care plans and contribute to the Risk Assessments that identify and meet the needs of Service Users who attend.

  • It will be your responsibility to support/assist Service Users with their personal care needs in accordance with individual support plans.

What we need from you

  • It is essential that you to have experience of working with people living with Dementia.
  • You will show sensitivity in your work including good empathy, communication and relationship building skills and be aware of positive person-centred approaches that work well for people who live with Dementia.
  • Ideally, you may hold a vocational care qualification e.g. NVQ2 or equivalent and a willingness to acquire this if not already held.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
