Job Description

  • Serving as the internal authority on data protection, aiding compliance analysts with routine inquiries and addressing more complex questions.
  • Managing data protection, information security, and cyber security policies.
  • Overseeing the company’s information asset register and records of processing activities.
  • Responding to data inquiries, including subject access requests and requests for erasure.
  • Collaborating with the IT department, especially the cybersecurity team, to assess the effectiveness of the company’s information and cyber security measures.
  • Assisting the Head of Risk & Compliance with the renewal of cyber liability insurance.
  • Identifying emerging and ongoing risks across all departments and collaborating to develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Evaluating commercial agreements from a data protection standpoint.
  • Creating and conducting training courses and guidance on data protection awareness for all departments.
  • Providing research and technical advice on data protection and privacy legislation.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate is an expert in data protection and information security with a strong ability to manage policies, handle data inquiries, and serve as a key advisor on related matters. They must excel in collaboration, particularly with the IT and cybersecurity teams, to oversee and enhance security measures. The role involves risk identification and mitigation, assisting with cyber liability insurance, reviewing agreements, and leading data protection training. A commitment to continuous learning and providing technical guidance on privacy laws is essential.
