About the role
Our DS Smith site in Clay Cross is currently seeking an ambitious and motivated Customer Services Manager to support and manage the team, develop and encourage strong processes and challenge themselves daily. You will have full accountability for a high-performing Customer Service team that works hard to delight our customers every day.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the successful candidate will have full accountability of the customer service function to include line management responsibility, working with the internal team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the customer service function with a view to supporting to the Cluster. Liaising with the Cluster Sales team and liaising with other functions within the business to meet and exceed the needs and requirements of our customers on a daily basis resulting in the Supply Chain objectives and service goals being achieved.
Key tasks include the smooth running of the customer service function and the strategic development of this function and its people and process. Management of core HR activities and liaising with other departments to meet customer needs and requirements.
Working with the Supply Chain Manager to understand and analyse S&OP/customer demand. To provide pro-active resolutions to challenging situations.
The focus is to deliver world-class customer service in a fast paced environment to delight the customer and grow our business. To continually develop an environment that promotes constructive involvement and engagement for the customer service team.
About you
  • Experience in a similar leadership role, ideally in a Packaging/Manufacturing
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships with multiple stakeholders inside and outside DS Smith
  • Focused on continuous improvement so that the team can be managed efficiently, and performance can improve consistently
  • Able to make decisions in a time-pressured environment and stand by your decisions
  • Ability to learn and work with new business systems
