Is giving really good Customer Service important to you?

You’ll enjoy the opportunity of sharing your enthusiasm and self-motivation as a Customer Service Advisor in our Contact Centre. At times you’ll be working under pressure but your commitment to customer service will mean you really enjoy your work.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be talking to our customers every day, making appointments, supporting them to use our self-service options, resolving issues and ensuring that their needs are met, using your common sense and logical approach to problem solving.

Being able to put yourself in their shoes will really help.

About you

You will already have experience working in a customer service role, which probably included handling customer complaints. You’ll be a good listener, understanding how to use your customer service skills to ensure a great service is given. Multi-tasking will be one of your strengths as you’ll need to be able to chat with our customers whilst adding information to our system.

Having completed an English GCSE or equivalent previously will be a must.

What’s in it for me

Here in the Aster Group Contact Centre we are passionate about helping people. Every day, we operate our Contact Centre on 3 key principals that we all work to, these are:

Being Positive – We enjoy what you do! By being upbeat and energetic, listening and engaging. We also build rapport - It makes a difference.
Being Patient – As some problems are difficult to solve, we listen to the customer, understand the issue, remain calm and remember it’s not personal
Being Proud – Take pleasure in accomplishment. Knowing what we do makes a difference.

We invest in our colleagues because we know if they have a better day at work, the service our customers receive will be better. The Aster Offer is our offer to our colleagues to ensure they have a great day at work and includes things like:

Flexible working – whilst some roles need to be carried out in a specific place at a specific time, where possible we encourage our colleagues to work to their own schedule at a location that suits them and their team
A focus on colleague wellbeing – workshops, an employee assistance programme offering counselling and support, virtual GP services, mental health training and a health cash plan for all
We invest in colleagues’ careers and development through our leader and colleague development frameworks
Defined Contribution Pension and attached life assurance
Volunteering hours available to all colleagues to enable them to give back
Savings at cinemas, gyms, holidays, days out, various shops and eateries and lots more
Enhanced leave
We celebrate colleagues who go above and beyond with a range of personalised thank you and monthly and annual awards.

About Aster Group

Now is a really exciting time to join us. We’re working towards our vision of everyone has a home. It’s a bold statement but one everyone across our business is passionate about. Our purpose is to improve people’s lives. We provide safety and security through our reliable landlord services and we supply a wide range of housing options in response to the housing crisis. We believe that work isn’t somewhere you go, it’s something you do. No two days are the same here, and agile working is the norm rather than the exception.

We’re on an exciting transformation journey.

Our business strategy is clear. Our vision is bold. And what sets us apart is The Aster Way.

The Aster Way is not just a set of words. It’s a shared understanding of the way we work – creating a fair and inclusive culture. It’s a set of straightforward principles that underpin everything we do, every day. From how we lead and learn, to how we collaborate, communicate and innovate, this is how we’ll reach our vision - that everyone has a home.

We’re a not-for-dividend business established in 1990 and have over £1.6 billion worth of assets. We own and maintain over 30,000 homes, provide services to approximately 90,000 customers and employ 1,300 people. The Aster Foundation is our way of giving something back. It’s the work we choose to do over and above our landlord and development activities.
