Join us as our Country Medical Lead - Neuroscience and Internal Medicine, in our UK Head Office in Central London, Paddington.

As our successful Country Medical Lead - Neuroscience and Internal Medicine, you will lead a team of circa 10 individuals whose priorities are to:

Improve the availability and quality of care for both adults and children with ADHD. This requires the development and provision of high-quality Medical Education, as well as partnering with NHS bodies to develop new services and increase capacity for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD.

Provide medical support for Takeda’s anticipated first launch of a vaccine in the UK.

Develop and ensure the delivery of strong medical plans across the ADHD and vaccines portfolio. These should include robust plans for KOL engagement, as well as plans for generating real world data and exploiting digital capabilities within the business to use omnichannel approaches to engage the wider prescribing community

Recruit and lead a team of high potential individuals. Provide coaching and development opportunities to enable them to progress into more senior roles within the business in due course.

As an active member of the Medical Lead Team, contribute to the development of the medical function as a whole

Key Accountabilities:

  • As our Country Medical Lead - NS & Gen Med you will be responsible for leading the medical team within the Neuroscience and General Medicine Business Unit. The team comprises
  • Medical / Scientific Advisors aligned to the key therapeutic areas of ADHD and vaccines
  • Clinical Nurse Educators who are responsible for developing and delivering educational offerings to HCPs in the ADHD therapy area
  • Team of Service Development Managers, including a Team Leader, who are tasked with partnering with NHS organisations to improve and expand ADHD diagnostic and treatment capacity across the NHS.
  • The performance of all team members will need to be actively managed with appropriate development plans in place to build skills and capabilities and equip team members to develop their careers.
  • You will play a key leadership role within the Neuroscience & Gen Med Business unit and will be one of our main contributors within the strategic planning process.
  • You will be accountable for developing and delivering aligned medical plans for both vaccines and ADHD, along with managing a substantial budget.
  • Expected to act as an ABPI final signatory, to promote a compliant mindset within the Business Unit and to develop Medical / Scientific Advisors to become independent ABPI signatories in their own right
  • You will lead / undertake ad hoc projects which contribute to the development of the wider business / medical function

Education, Key Skill and Experience:

  • GMC registered physician / GPhC registered pharmacist (preferred) although other individuals with a strong scientific background may be considered
  • Substantial medical affairs experience, ideally gained in more than one therapy area and including some element of people management
  • Genuine passion for the treatment of patients with mental health conditions
  • Experience developing / delivering / publishing real world evidence projects (preferred)
  • Experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary set of stakeholders to deliver results
