CMA are currently working alongside a multi-entity high growth accounting firm in Farnborough looking for a Tax Senior to join them in their private client team. The role would suit someone coming in from a background of ATT qualification who wants to build on their experience in a supportive environment and work towards CTA. This role will involve taking full responsibility for a portfolio of clients as well as reviewing work with plenty of direct client contact.What Will The Role Involve
  • Preparing complex personal tax returns;
  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring key deadlines are met;
  • Assist junior team members with training and queries;
  • Reviewing simple tax returns prepared by junior team members;
  • Identify advisory opportunities to refer to members of the advisory team;
  • Manage client relationships;
  • Assist with wider compliance obligations of the tax team. This may expand to include CGT returns & calculations, IHT returns, trust regulations, etc;
  • Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required, including assisting with advisory work in a range of areas, e.g., residency/ domicile issues / property issues/ IHT, trusts & estates.
Suitable Candidate
  • ATT qualified (or soon to be qualified);
  • Working towards CTA (desirable);
  • Have a good technical tax knowledge and experience in preparing complex personal tax returns;
  • Have a proven experience in managing a large compliance portfolio;
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills;
  • Ideally would have experience of dealing with non-dom and non-resident personal tax clients;
  • Experience of looking after own client allocation for the annual compliance cycle;
  • Working with SME clients at a mid-tier UK accounting firm;
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and provide excellent client care;
  • Demonstrable experience of working with complex tax returns.
