The Role

To assist the project execution function in managing contractual, commercial, operational and financial risk in the management of the project contract(s) the business executes.
  • Through professional and diligent commercial contracts management, manage the implementation of contractual obligations with suppliers and customers to protect commercial interest of the company.
  • Working with the Project Managers to ensure that contractual change events are accurately recorded, supported with strong quantifiable data to ensure variations and claims are managed effectively.
  • Ensure project planning is supportive of contractual milestones and deadlines. Compilation of claims and Variations to customers and suppliers where required in co-ordination with project timeline.
  • Provide administration of all documentation and correspondence under the contract, collating and recording all contract notices such as changes, variations and compensation events. Support the Project Manager in preparation of any official communications.
  • Support of project controlling with regard to the early detection of cost risks, payment milestones and collation of information project accounting for forecasts etc
  • Support the procurement function in the management and flow down of contractual risks in supply chain including the elaboration of contract risks and possible countermeasures
  • Be responsible for creating and growing through value addition a commercial contracts function for the North Europe Business (process, templates, best practice and claims management)
  • Coordinate with global contracts management functional colleagues in development of best practice and harmonised global processes.
  • Participation in regular project and customer meetings to ensure that commercial and contractual matters are maintained .
  • Interpret commercial contract terms and conditions for the business
Essential

What We Are Looking For
  • University Degree in relevant discipline
  • Demonstrable experience of contracts management (circa 5 years)
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law and contract frameworks relevant to the Dematic business
  • Project management skills or training
  • Interpersonal skills, situational awareness and sensitivity
  • Valid driving licence
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites, occasional company meetings, overseas etc
Desirable
  • Knowledge of the materials handling market and project delivery
  • Knowledge of delivery of industry standard form contracts e.g. MF1, FIDIC etc.
  • Engineering / infrastructure projects
