Content Creator

Level 3 Assistant Director, reports to Senior Marketing Manager

The opportunity

You will be fundamental to ensuring we deliver our intended outcomes and to interface daily with both internal stakeholders and our agencies and partners.

The role requires someone who has a natural ability to translate business issues and topics into creative and compelling content that will contribute to our brand distinctiveness ambitions. You will have the understanding needed to cut through and distil information to create content that hits the mark with our audiences, drawing their attention and engaging them so that they’re left wanting more.

The writer will support the marketing team to create relevant and engaging content across projects, campaigns and programmes, including digital and print copy. They will be pivotal to helping engage and attract clients and targets through optimised content that resonates with the audience and results in a clear call to action.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Working with multiple stakeholders across the marketing team you will be a lead adviser internally for content creation and writing as part of wider projects, campaigns and programmes.
  • Work with multiple campaign teams, providing guidance, advice and direction on content strategy to build strong engagement and deliver clear ROI.
  • Support the team by writing and editing a variety of copy and content from web copy through to thought leadership and case studies.
  • Have a clear understanding of how our content/content strategy fits into the bigger picture BMC objectives across buyer journeys, audience programmes, social media and editorial strategy.
  • Collaborate with wider BMC teams including brand, digital, external comms and social media.
  • Ensure brand compliance in writing style, tone of voice and SCORE.
  • Coach the wider team on what good looks like to help drive best practice and create content that drives strong ROI and a clear call to action for the audience.
  • Work with the digital team making sure that all content meets the criteria set out in our editorial principles; helping to shape and refine them as we measure effectiveness of our content across campaigns and programmes.
  • Work with the marketing team to create case studies that help us to tell compelling client stories in the market, supporting the team in developing innovative activation plans.
  • Effectively brief and work with agencies and freelance writers.

Skills And Attributes For Success
  • Extensive business experience; or a degree (or equivalent), professional qualification,
  • Experience of working in large/matrix organisations, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements
  • Extensive writing and content creation experience with a proven track record of supporting teams from scoping phase of campaign right through to delivery.
  • Experience in SEO and optimising digital content to support campaign search objectives and buyer journey.
  • Time and project management skills – highly organised with a sound attention to detail and an ability to deliver to deadlines.
  • A solid understanding of campaign principles, coupled with a strong commercial drive and the ability to deliver high-value activities that deliver return on investment, ensuring alignment with brand and risk management.
  • An enthusiastic, can do approach and be a strong team player.
  • The ability to juggle conflicting demands on time and prioritise effectively.
  • Clear understanding of external markets and the backdrop against which a lot of our of content is produced and written.
  • A desire to embrace and drive change whilst identifying and supporting process improvements and demonstrating best practice.

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • 5 years’ experience in writing marketing copy and content within a business environment

Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Experience of briefing and working with creative agencies and freelance writers
