We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Co-ordinator to join our ORCA Team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

As part of the cross functional ORCA Team, this role will be to monitor current and future cruise programmes providing situational awareness to the business and be a central area of coordination for operational issues, incident coordination and managing the impact of deviations from the operational plan.

About the Role

As part of the cross functional ORCA Team, this role will be to monitor current and future cruise programmes providing situational awareness to the business and be a central area of coordination for operational issues, incident coordination and managing the impact of deviations from the operational plan. Issues coordinated by the ORCA team are wide ranging including impacts of operational, technical as well as geo-political issues. In this role, you will be part of a team which is responsible for bringing together the relevant operational stakeholders both ship and shore to support any event/incidents.

The ORCA Service Coordinator is the focal point for this coordination, being the central point of contact and support for both ship and shore teams. You will monitor and then manage situations utilising the relevant stakeholders providing overall management of any event. This role also provides operational support of deviations to the plan, such as itinerary changes and manages central coordination to Incidents and Issues on board our ships.

Further accountabilities of this role include monitoring of daily fleet operations, creating and delivering situational awareness reporting in both verbal and written form, compiling summaries of issues and preparing briefs for decisions to be made. You will also be required to review internal and external information to consider impact to the fleet that may impact the current or future operations.

You will be key to highlighting key risks to senior management, analysing the impact on the operation and recommending appropriate cross functional contingency plans. This is a varied role which will also require you to be in close liaison with the on call crisis teams, to ensure all incidents are escalated. In addition, you will be responsible for reviewing and co-ordinating planned attendance on board our ships.

About You

Due to the responsibilities within this role, we have identified qualifications and experience that is critical and deemed essential for this role, this includes being a qualified deck or technical ships officer or equivalent in another transportation industry as well as A-levels or equivalent. You will have experience of working within a fast paced operational environment and have managed and led groups of stakeholders. You will have previously worked on the creation and delivery of operational/crisis contingency plans. In addition to this, we would find it beneficial if you have experience of management of a safety related function as well as being familiar with operation maritime and risk management principles.

Please be aware, that due to the nature of this role and to be best placed to support the fleet this role will be on a rota that includes hours from 8am to 8pm, and shifts that will include weekend working.
