Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting for a Construction Superintendent for a client’s project at Wilton Teesside

Purpose of Role
  • To read, understand and implement the Company’s HSSE policy and the arrangements described in the Company Management Systems document
  • Oversight and direction of a multi-disciplined construction team in delivering the workscope in accordance with the applicable specifications, procedures, etc that apply and in a safe and efficient manner within the planned target dates
  • Senior role assuring compliance with safe systems of work, ensure field supervision set to work and maintain field productivity, reporting on progress
  • Resolution of workforce HSE and Quality issues
  • Act as the infield company representative and assure company responsibilities under CDM regulations in the role as principal contractor
Prime Responsibilities And Duties
  • Safety & Quality leadership
  • Understand and ensure compliance with appropriate technical standards and specifications
  • Oversight and leadership of a multi-discipline construction team
  • Understand construction/commissioning activities and methods
  • Understand client PTW / TRA processes
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of construction activities
  • Prepare resource plans to ensure suitable resources are available to execute the works, in accordance with the agreed plan. This to include the necessary tooling and temporary requirements which are to be managed and controlled in a cost-effective manner
  • Input and support to daily and weekly planning schedules and co-ordination meetings
  • Involvement with the management of and input to shutdown planning
  • Act as Wood field coordinator for site activities, etc to ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of resources
  • Monitor progress and report on performance on a daily, weekly basis
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance on all construction related activities
  • Ensuring all incidents and near misses are reported and lessons learned
  • Drive ownership of HSSE through team
  • Provide positive leadership on HSSE issues
Experience

Skills / Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience in similar role in Oil and Gas construction management
  • Delivery focused with proven experience in achieving project goals whilst maintaining high standards in HSSE and Quality at all times
  • Extensive knowledge of the construction process, its implementation and management. Fully conversant with project management tools
  • Trade discipline background, with suitable and sufficient vocational qualifications
  • Experienced in the production of detailed procedures / documents / reports
  • Experienced in the management of personnel and all aspects of team working
  • Ability to deliver guidance and training to personnel within the construction team - commitment to develop team members
  • Ability to interface and interact with Management and Client Representatives at all levels
  • Ability to work both at project and corporate levels
