Composite FitterBrackleyAt the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and race winner George Russell.The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport’s current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors’ Championship in 2021.The role:We are looking for an enthusiastic Composite Fitter to join the Composite Fitting Shop.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a core department, in assembling high quality carbon components for our F1 racing car and our customer supply, in the most efficient, cost-effective manner. You can share our passion and hunger for competition whilst staying true to our values, in addition to enjoying an innovative environment where collaboration and teamwork is key.We are looking for self-motivator who will share successes whilst embedding into to our ethos of continuous improvements in a world that continues to evolve. Your roles and responsibilities will include:
  • Trimming, fitting and bonding carbon fibre components utilizing engineering drawings and build instructions.
  • Assembling moulds, jigs and fixtures.
  • Ability to deal with technical challenges and solve problems as they arise.
  • Responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards on all manufactured composites components to defined standards.
  • Proactively contributing to the improvement of quality and efficiency.
  • Working to challenging and demanding lead times.
  • Being aware of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Assisting other areas of the department as required.
  • Adhering to surface preparation and bonding procedures.
What we are looking for:
  • Ability to demonstrate significant previous experience of trimming/fitting a broad range of composite materials in Motorsport/F1.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, always remaining respectful.
  • A self-motivator and ability to motivate others.
  • A methodical and thorough approach to the work with excellent attention to detail.
  • Work as part of a team in an ever-demanding environment.
  • Enthusiastic and able to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Work well under pressure to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • A can-do attitude whilst remaining flexible.
