Communications / Marketing Officer
£25,657- £33,204 (Band 4/5)
Full time

An exciting position has arisen for a Communications / Marketing Officer to join our team at Eastleigh Borough Council.

It’s a fascinating time to work for Eastleigh Borough Council. We are recognised for our innovation and achievements – we won APSE’s Council of the Year 2022. Not only do we deliver high quality services to our customers, but we are behind some of the most exciting projects in the region, building homes and communities.

This is a rare opportunity to work with a highly skilled team of communications and marketing professionals that tells the Council’s and Eastleigh’s story through excellent public relations, marketing, design, and digital communications. This role will play a key part in developing and delivering creative and engaging campaigns online and offline. You will raise awareness of events and venues, promote our services, drive positive behaviour change, and showcase Eastleigh Borough as a great place to live, work and visit.

About you
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping Eastleigh Borough Council’s Communications and Marketing team tell the story of one the country’s most ambitious and progressive Councils.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in communications and/or marketing, a good eye for design and presentation, with an understanding of brand management and how engagement can be built over time. You will need experience of creating, using and editing content across different channels (web, social media, PR, email, print media). Experience of managing production of a printed magazine or newspaper, and/or of event management would be an advantage.

This is an interesting and varied role, working across many services and projects across the Council, so you will be an excellent and proactive communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships across the organisation.

Why work for us?
At Eastleigh, we are committed to supporting and developing all our staff and creating a culture that is inclusive, innovative and enjoyable. We offer excellent opportunities for continuous professional development and support our staff in maintaining a good work life balance through our innovative flexi time system. 25-28 days, pro-rata annual leave dependant on continuous service

Flexible working arrangements and ability to accrue up to 2 days additional flexi leave per month (subject to operational requirements)

Defined Benefit Pension Scheme

Places Leisure Eastleigh – 30% off Full Membership

Confidential Employee Advice and Support Programme

Car and Season Ticket loans

Excellent working environment

Support for continuous professional development

Good work life balance
