Communications and Engagement Officer required
Temporary – 6 months
Full time - £12.93 per hour
WorkwithYork are looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer for a temporary assignment with a view to start immediately. This will be a home based role with some meetings in central York.
In this role you will be expected to support the team in creating new and strengthening existing relationships with businesses in York to support and accelerate the recovery post covid.
Duties –
  • Develop and deliver a business support communications plan
  • Update website, social media channels especially linked in, to support local businesses recover – including signposting grants/funding opportunities
  • Draft and distribute statements, official comments and media releases
  • Support the team with any other work
Skills needed –
  • Ability to write effective and concise copy.
  • Ability to develop and deliver communications campaigns
  • Must be adaptable and flexible and able to work under pressure to tight and conflicting deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to implement strategies
  • Experience of identifying, designing and delivering campaigns
  • Good knowledge on the use and application of social media and digital communications
