Purpose of the Post.
  • Support the Communications Team to implement internal (within the Council) and external (the Puplic) communication and marketing plans
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure that information and services on the Gwynedd Council website are correct and up to date
  • Work with the team to continually adapt the website to the customer’s needs
  • Work towards completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification in Social Media and Marketing
  • Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.

Main Duties
  • Support the preparation of press releases, articles for the Council’s electronic newspaper, articles for the staff magazine etc.
  • Assist with the administration and distribution of corporate messages using the appropriate media.
  • Support the team in updating the corporate content on the external website www.gwynedd.llyw.cymru and on the Council’s intranet (Internal website) including content writing.
  • Support the officers of the Service in promoting and raising the awareness of the people of Gwynedd of the opportunities that exist for them to give their views on local services and on what matters to them.
  • Support Service officers in the production and implementation of public engagement exercises (public surveys, questionnaires, drop-in sessions, focus groups, workshops etc).
  • Support the administration of the bulletin publication and the electronic staff magazine
  • Assist with proofreading and translating questionnaires, newsletters, website content and so on ensuring that they are written in simple, accurate and clear Welsh and English.
  • Research good practice in internal and external communication
  • Responsibility for self-development.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
  • Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
  • Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
  • Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
  • Responsibility to report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused
