As a Barclays Commercial Manager, you will have the opportunity to work across Enterprise Technology within Global Technical Infrastructure Services (GTIS) sharing responsibility in managing maintenance renewals, software and hardware purchases. You will play a key role in working collaboratively with Senior Product stakeholders to secure the contractual requirements, whilst also managing the ongoing operational activities associated with specific contracts such as Inventory & License Management.

What will you be doing?

  • Obtaining mandatory Barclays internal spend approvals utilising internal tools, to renew third party contracts or for any new purchases of IT hardware, software and maintenance
  • Maintaining Contract Management and supporting license True Up discussions
  • Supporting Finance in the management of Capital, Operating (Opex), or Development costs for any spend associated with our contracts
  • Supporting Managers in obtaining mandatory internal sanction approvals for third party resource requests
  • Supporting Supplier Management with preferred vendors where operational issues for third party resources arise
  • Managing the ongoing operational activities associated with specific contracts such as Inventory and License Management and approving invoices for payment against PO’s raised
  • Working with Finance to agree internal product unit costs for hardware, software and maintenance used for cross charging new projects consuming these services

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience of working within an organisation managing IT contracts and finance processes to formulate strategies for contract renewals
  • Excellent knowledge of computer application skills, especially in MS Excel, and competent working with and interpreting large amounts of data
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders through good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to self-start and work independently.

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Experience in Software Licence Management, understanding different Software Licence Metrics technologies including Cloud usage
  • Knowledge of Contract and Supplier Management of IT vendors
  • Previous experience in Finance Management

You will be based in Radbroke Hall, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our Tech Command Centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
