Job Description: We are currently seeking a Fitter/Turner on behalf of our client. This is a full-time permanent position that requires expertise in lathe work, CNC machine operation, and milling machines (both digital read and manual). While prior experience in programming CNC machines would be preferred, comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of machining processes and contributing to the production of high-quality components.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform lathe work with precision and efficiency.
  • Operate CNC machines effectively, ensuring accurate machining of components.
  • Utilise milling machines (both digital read and manual) to produce required parts.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming is a plus, but training will be provided.
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

  • Sound background and experience in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lathe work, CNC machine operation, and milling machines.
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate customer and project needs.
  • Availability for potential call-outs during evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight stays.
  • A full clean driving licence.
  • Experience in the food and pharmaceutical industries is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems is preferred.
  • Fork truck and IPAF licences are advantageous, or a willingness to undergo training.
  • Willingness to work at heights using appropriate safety equipment (scaffolding, ladders, cherry pickers, scissor lifts, etc.).
  • Openness to training as a confined space operative (considered if candidates meet other requirements).
  • All relevant employees will receive training to operate the Water Jet Cutting machine, as our client plans to invest in this technology.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs, flexibility required with availability. 40-Hour contract, with Overtime at x1.5 (Monday - Saturday) & Overtime at 2x (Sunday)

Early/late shifts and weekend work requested from time to time. Frequent overtime requested, with average week of 50-60 hours.
