Job Description: An opportunity to join an extremely successful paper packaging manufacturing plant in Blackwood, which has experienced sustained growth for the past 15 years. Involved in producing items for some of the best-known food outlets in the UK, the role offers a structured development program to develop your knowledge and enhance your career

The role is designed to help maximise the department machines’ output and maintain the manufacturing processes within the designed specification. You would need to work with other team members to continuously improve manufacturing performance, on occasion leading by example or managing the team to resolve issues.

Working a 3-shift pattern, Mornings, Afternoons and Nights, Monday to Friday, this role will focus on effective preventative and reactive maintenance, machinery set-up and repairs, supporting the high-volume, state of the art manufacturing equipment.

Role Specification:As an Electrical Technician, your core responsibilities will encompass:

• Providing engineering and operational support to a designated manufacturing area
• Expertly setting machines to achieve precise product specifications and optimal performance
• Maintaining automated inspection systems to ensure quality standards
• Diagnosing faults and implementing corrective actions
• Conducting routine machine inspections
• Swiftly responding to minor breakdowns to minimize downtime
• Performing preventative maintenance to uphold machinery efficiency
• Addressing major breakdowns with a sense of urgency and technical skill
• Ensuring strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, along with food safety requirements, legislation, GMP, and company policies
• Preparing sub-assemblies to contribute to seamless manufacturing processes
• Fulfilling additional tasks as reasonably assigned by your Manager

Qualifications:You’ll bring the following qualifications and experience to excel in this role:

• Formal qualification in an applicable subject such as ONC/HNC, BTEC/City and Guilds in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a relevant apprenticeship
• Proficiency in high-speed production or food processing environments
• Skilled in machine setting and the pursuit of product excellence
• Strong problem-solving abilities for efficient fault finding
• Desirable experience with PLCs, pneumatics, and robotics
• Exceptional adaptability and interpersonal skills
• Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable with autonomous decision-making
• Self-assured and credible approach
• Flexibility to meet dynamic challenges

Working Patterns: Your role will encompass the following 3-shift rota pattern:

• Week 1: Day Shift - Monday to Friday, 06:00 AM to 02:00 PM
• Week 2: Night Shift - Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM
• Week 3: Afternoon Shift - Monday to Friday, 02:00 PM to 10:00 PM
