We are looking for a Clerical Officer who will be required to undertake a wide range of clerical duties associated within a busy Clinical Imaging Department or any of the Departments within the Clinical Imaging Directorate.

To use the Breast Screening Computer system (NBSS) to arrange appointments and record results so that patients are routinely screened for breast disease every three years.

Where required, to make and re-arrange appointments for both In Patients and Outpatients. Assist and deal with enquiries from the public, consultants, medical staff, general practitioners, clinics, wards and other hospitals both on the reception and over the telephone promptly and courteously in a pressurised environment.

The ability to communicate effectively with a variety of staff groups

The ability to deal with patients either face to face or over the telephone in a professional and empathetic manner

Releasing up to date and accurate information and dealing with enquiries from the public, consultants, medical staff, general practitioners and other hospitals. Ensuring security checks are carried out before disclosing information.

Adhering to policies and procedures relating to ensuring that patients received the correct results (Right Results Protocol)

Performing all clerical duties with accuracy and efficiency to ensure that the breast screening programme and symptomatic system achieve and maintain targets both local and national.
