The Royal Cornwall Hospital’s busy Emergency Department has a vacancy for a Receptionist to provide an exceptional patient experience by ensuring a welcoming, helpful and supportive reception service.

The post holder will be expected to work shifts across 7 days a week over a 24 hour period in order to provide a reception service to the hospital’s busy Emergency Department.

Duties will include maintaining and updating the Patient Administration System (PAS) and utilising hospital systems such as Maxims and Oceano in order to contribute to the effective delivery of patient care.

The ability to observe patient confidentiality and maintain a professional manner are essential.

The post holder will be required to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to work under extreme pressure and be able to exercise sound judgement and decision making skills whilst working as part of a team or under own initiative.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours per week (out of hours).

There is one fixed term / secondment role for 9 months. And one fixed term / secondment role for 11 months.
