This appointment is offered on a fixed-term temporary basis (maternity cover) starting 1.11.21 until 22.7.22
The Head Teacher, children, staff and Governing Body of St. Andrew’s Primary School are looking for a primary school teacher, who is an exceptional, highly-motivated, innovative, creative practitioner and is committed to children’s learning, wellbeing and the raising of standards. We are a vibrant forward thinking school with a highly committed, dedicated and hard-working team who strive towards achieving the highest standards for all our children.
We are seeking excellent practitioners who have:
  • The ability to inspire children to have a love of learning.
  • High expectations and a drive to raise standards.
  • Enthusiasm and a commitment to professional development.
  • Total dedication to the inclusion of all pupils.
  • High aspirations for developing pupil participation in the planning process of learning via a practical, hands-on, real life skills based curriculum.
  • A keen interest in extra-curricular activities.
  • A clear understanding of skills based curriculum, in particular the Literacy and Numeracy Framework.
  • The ability to teach Welsh as a second language.
  • The ability to contribute to the development and improvement of the school as a whole.
  • Expertise in digital learning.
  • An understanding of teaching children with English as an additional language.
  • The ability to develop children to be reflective learners.
  • A good understanding of both Foundation Phase and a skills based curriculum at Key Stage 2.
The job is to be based in Year 1 this academic year.
