About the role

  • £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience + up to 17.5% annual bonus potential + benefits
  • 35-hour working week, Monday-Friday
  • Company car – 100% homeworking role – multi site travel required


We are looking to recruit an experienced Claims Supplier Specialist to join our wider Head Office Claims Department on a full-time permanent basis. You will support the development and maintenance of effective relationships with Claims suppliers to ensure the delivery of sustainable and cost-effective claims services to NFU Mutual’s members.


This is a fantastic opportunity allowing you to work independently with the responsibility of managing a portfolio of suppliers. You will act as the face of NFU Mutual claims ensuring our suppliers meet our ethos and deliver the customer service and experience that NFU Mutual is renowned for.


As Claims Supplier Specialist you will visit suppliers onsite and attend meetings at our Head Office, Regional offices and at agencies within NFU Mutual’s agency network to ensure a sound understanding of our Business, Agents and Customer requirements, issues and opportunities. You will manage the day to day relationship with Suppliers, reviewing and monitoring their performance against agreed objectives and targets, taking corrective action as required and seeking improvement initiatives and innovations to ensure partners are delivering to our Service Standards, Terms of Business and Financial objectives. You will collate, develop, and report on management information that meets stakeholder requirements to support effective decision making and inform Claims Supplier selection and service development.

About you

You will be CIPS or CII qualified or working towards and will have experience in the general insurance market in a claims or similar environment. You will have sound knowledge of general insurance products and financial acumen plus effective collaboration and negotiation skills.


Experience of influencing, persuading and providing direction to others to achieve goals is key, as is experience of developing, analysing and reporting on management information to formulate recommendations.
