NFU Mutual Stafford – Branch Manager – Job Role Profile

NFU Mutual’s branch in Stafford is one of the leading NFU Mutual branches in the country, specialising in business insurance for commercial clients, and we are currently recruiting for a Branch Manager.

As Branch Manager within an ambitious & successful team, you’ll be working at the very heart of a well established and expanding local business.

Ideally you will have either of the following and will relish the challenge to contribute to the continued success of a local, customer focused business by ensuring your team perform to their full potential and the business remains compliant and up to date with regulation whilst continuing to write and renew target commercial insurance business:

- experience in a people management role, so will be no stranger to motivating others and working in a fast paced environment, and/or

- experience working in insurance broking, looking for the next challenge

You will support the business by managing the branch on a day to day basis and overseeing all business departments, ensuring that your direct reports achieve their objectives and the business continues to strive, ideally being the go to person for all technical insurance queries.

You will receive full training, in a friendly and supportive environment, to ensure you are fully licensed in the appropriate NFU Mutual products.

Key duties include:

· Co-ordinate and manage the branch to ensure effective operations, ensuring adequate resource at all times

· Train, develop, facilitate and monitor the achievement and maintenance of Training and Competence for new and existing staff to ensure they meet the standards required; act within their limits of authority and meet the required deadlines

· Co-ordinate and supervise branch staff to ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service and compliance with NFU Mutual and branch specific standards

· Lead, manage, motivate and develop direct reports so that they know what is expected, are able to maximise their contribution to business objectives and realise their potential

· Oversee all business departments including Customer Service, Claims, Accounts & Sales to ensure all teams are meeting their objectives and the business is performing to its maximum potential

· Attend weekly management meetings with the Partners of the branch and carry out agreed actions within agreed timeframes

· Contribute to the piloting and/or introduction of new initiatives, processes and systems to established requirements, timescales and quality standards

· Assess sales performance of new and existing staff and provide coaching and technical support to enhance performance as outlined by the NFU Mutual Training & Competence Scheme Guide and maintain records

· Manage and report on important business information as required

Knowledge, skills & attributes required:

· You must have experience of coaching, supervising or managing individuals and / or teams

· It would be beneficial if you have prior knowledge and experience of general insurance products

· You must be an enthusiastic and positive person who compliments the growth plans of the business and embraces the business ethos

· Be able to communicate effectively, both in written format and verbal expression

· Be able to problem solve, use own initiative and judgement

· Demonstrate attributes of honesty, integrity, due skill, care and diligence at all times

· Possess good IT skills to use Microsoft programmes and specific NFU Mutual systems

· Develop and sustain effective working relationships with the employer, customers, the team and relevant NFU Mutual staff

· Ability to demonstrate and evidence appropriate level/s of education applicable for the role

· A full UK driving license is required

The starting salary will be £30,000 and is dependent on experience; the position is full time standard branch hours, five days a week.
