About The Role Of Support Worker
  • Ensuring the care and welfare of each child and young person in placement, putting them at the centre of everything you do
  • Work to safeguard the children within our homes
  • Provide support to the senior support worker in providing the best quality care and outcomes
  • Support children on shift with a confident and enthusiastic manner whilst ensuring all paperwork is completed before the end of your shift
  • A resilient and reliable individual who is able to remain calm in situations that may be difficult or challenging
  • Provide and manage firm consistent boundaries to the children and young people
  • Be creative in coming up with solutions to help manage behaviours
  • Provide a supportive approach to the team
  • Record events and contribute to and implement care plans, risk assessments; participate in reviews and meetings as required, ensuring all documents are kept up to date
  • Be a good listener and be curious about what you can learn from children and young people
  • Have fun in the workplace but also be prepared to support the overwhelming emotions of the children and young people
  • Be a positive role model and mentor for the children, young people and staff team
  • Some knowledge of Tik Tok, Xbox, SnapChat, Instagram, Facebook, Football, making music would be helpful
  • Assist in ensuring staff work within the homes policies, procedures and Ofsted Quality Standard
What we are looking for
  • No experience necessary
  • Preferred but not essential QCF/NVQ Level 3 or Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent or willing to work towards this fully funded by us
  • Can communicate effectively with children and young people, team colleagues, managers, professionals and external stakeholders
  • A resilient, reliable individual who is able to lead the team and remain calm in situations that may be difficult or challenging
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week on any 5 of 7 days with a premium payment for occasional overnight work
