This is a unique opportunity to join Durham Constabulary at critical time in police history. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape and influence the national landscape as we work towards implementation of the NPCC National Digital Strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on a programme of information improvement and innovation, allowing the constabulary to maximise the operational benefits of its information assets in a lawful and ethical way.

This role will lead the Information Management Department (including, information security, information rights and disclosure and records management and quality). This role will also perform the function of the Data Protection Officer and as such will oversee the processing of law enforcement data.

Candidates will be expected to have at least three years’ senior managerial experience, setting strategic direction for management. Senior management experience of data management within a complex environment is also a requirement. In addition, at least five years’ professional experience is required working in the management of various information systems.

Salary

Higher Principal Officer 1 £52,413 - £59,895 per annum

A market forces supplement to a maximum of 10% will be considered for a period of 5 years.

Hours

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As a member of a professional team, you will be expected to work outside these hours occasionally.

Qualifications

A Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Information Management)

Fully Qualified Professional (e.g., Member of Information & Records Management Society) – Awarding Professional Body
