Are you ready to take the reins of our vibrant retail store and make a meaningful impact on Guild Care’s mission? Guild Care is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Retail Shop Manager to lead our team and contribute to the success of our Rowlands Road store in Worthing.

  • Location: Worthing, West Sussex
  • Salary:£25,015-£28,264
  • Hours of Work: 37.5, full-time

Job Requirements:

Essential:

  • Literate and numerate
  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Up-to-date IT Skills
  • Flexible attitude
  • Able to take responsibility and work on own initiative
  • Ability to undertake reasonable lifting duties
  • Supervisory experience
  • Retail experience

Desirable:

  • Managerial experience
  • Experience in the Charity Shop sector
  • Experience of working with volunteers

Job Purpose:

To manage and promote the shop, ensuring its profitability, reputation, and contribution to raising the profile of Guild Care. Maintain effective stock management, achieve income budgets, and maximize sales. Line manage Deputy Shop Manager(s) and a team of volunteers.

Main Duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the shop, including processing deliveries and donations, stock control, and liaising with the Furniture Scheme Manager.
  • Rotate stock regularly as directed by the Retail Manager.
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising, display, and cleanliness throughout the shop.
  • Ensure the shop is open during agreed times.
  • Monitor and check the security of stock and cash, handling all financial procedures, including cash transfers, till balance, banking, and petty cash.
  • Promote and support the Gift Aid Scheme.
  • Manage expense budgets, working within agreed financial and sales targets.

Pay: £29,162.00 per year

  • Charity sector: 2 years (preferred)
