The Category Manager will be a key member of the Supply Chain team, providing procurement guidance and expertise to colleagues and delivery teams to ensure value for money in the supply chain.

Responsibilities Will Include
  • Running procurements (RfX) from start to contract award in line with Prime requirements and KBS processes/policies/procedures.
  • Leading supply chain aspects for major and minor project works, including coordinating with Project/Infra teams.
  • Reviewing and refreshing framework suppliers. Identifying and implementing new suppliers.
  • Assessing supplier capacity and capability at tender stage.
  • Conducting market engagements, strategic sourcing, ITTs, evaluations.
  • Authoring of recommendation reports following procurement activities and presenting to key stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Developing work packages/solutions/specifications with key stakeholders and suppliers (Early Contractor Involvement).
  • Drafting and negotiating contract terms, BAFO commercials.
  • Working with SubContract Manager to confirm supply base VfM.
  • Driving the process of Make Vs. Buy decisions.
  • Providing market intelligence to key stakeholders to inform business decisions.
  • Leveraging suppliers and provide savings based on scale of economy.
  • Conducting supplier due diligence and onboarding. Issuing SALs where relevant.
  • Running Tender Review Board
Your Key Experience Will Be
  • Category management (Facilities Management/Construction/Infrastructure)
  • Strategic infrastructure/FM end-to-end procurement experience.
  • Strategic sourcing

  • Relationship management
  • Knowledge and experience of UK Defence industry Terms & Conditions
  • Knowledge and experience of NEC4 suite contracting an advantage

You’ll Ideally Have The Following Qualifications, Memberships Etc
  • Educated to degree level within an engineering, law or business related field
  • CIPS L3 or above an advantage
